Nursery Manager

Location: Brierfield, Lancashire
Salary: £45,000 per annum, rising to £50,000 upon achieving agreed performance targets, plus an excellent benefits package.

You’ll play a pivotal role in developing both the nursery provision and the team, ensuring every child receives the very best start in life.
The Role
As Nursery Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery, ensuring outstanding delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum while creating a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can flourish.
Working closely with the Head Teacher and Director, you will lead the nursery’s strategic development, oversee financial performance, support staff development and contribute to marketing initiatives that continue to grow the nursery’s excellent reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the daily operation of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding.
- Deliver and continually develop an outstanding EYFS curriculum that promotes children’s learning and development.
- Inspire, mentor and develop a high-performing team through coaching, supervision, training and appraisals.
- Ensure children receive exceptional learning opportunities tailored to their individual needs, including those with SEND.
- Monitor children’s progress and ensure assessments and records meet statutory EYFS requirements.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals to support positive outcomes for every child.
- Manage the nursery budget and contribute to the ongoing financial success of the setting.
- Work alongside the Head Teacher and Director to develop marketing initiatives that increase occupancy and retain families.
- Maintain full compliance with EYFS requirements, safeguarding legislation and all relevant regulatory standards.
- Create an inclusive, engaging and inspiring environment where children, families and staff thrive.
About You
We’re looking for an experienced Early Years leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding childcare and education.
You will have:
- Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager ready to step into a leadership role.
- Excellent knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Experience leading, developing and motivating nursery teams.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development and inclusive practice.
- Experience supporting children with SEND and working alongside external agencies.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to manage budgets and contribute to the commercial success of the nursery.
- A genuine passion for providing exceptional learning experiences that allow every child to reach their full potential.
