Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home (EBD)

Location: Lymington, Hampshire

Bridgelink Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading children’s residential care provider to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for one of their therapeutic children’s homes based in Lymington, Hampshire.

Unlike many providers, their homes care for a maximum of two children, creating a genuine family-style environment where every child is known, valued and given the opportunity to heal from past trauma. Their therapeutic approach is centred around PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), with all staff receiving specialist training in attachment and trauma-informed care.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the leadership, management and day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring children receive outstanding therapeutic care in a safe, nurturing and stable environment.

You’ll lead and inspire your team, maintain full compliance with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations, and work closely with senior leaders and external professionals to ensure every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the children’s home.
• Create a positive, supportive and child-centred culture where children feel safe, valued and empowered.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing residential care team through supervision, coaching and professional development.
• Ensure the home consistently meets or exceeds Ofsted expectations, with the ambition of achieving an Outstanding rating.
• Maintain full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and safeguarding legislation.
• Oversee care planning, risk management and children’s progress to ensure outstanding outcomes.
• Develop strong relationships with Local Authorities, education providers, healthcare professionals and families.
• Manage the home’s budget and resources effectively.
• Promote and embed therapeutic parenting and trauma-informed practice throughout the home.
• Ensure the home remains welcoming, nurturing and reflective of the organisation’s family-based ethos.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and inspirational leader who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager or an experienced Deputy Manager ready to take the next step.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete).
• At least two years’ experience working within children’s residential care, with supervisory or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
• Experience of therapeutic parenting or trauma-informed practice would be highly advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children to achieve positive outcomes.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
